Perfect Days
This week held two of the most perfect days imaginable. The weather was OK (could've been warmer for my taste,) but Wednesday and Friday were just the perfect days.
Wednesday, I slept in a bit and met Brandon for brunch at Orange, where I ordered the Green Eggs and Ham with a cup of orange-infused coffee. Delicious. We ran some errands, watched American Idol, dropped by Swirlz for a cupcake, and I went to the gym. After my workout, I met friends in the burbs to see a house, after which we went back to their place, wrote a contract, and chatted over coffee and cupcakes from Swirlz.
Though Wednesday was hard to top, today is doing it! I slept in this morning, took care of some contract details, and Christi showed up at my house--ON TIME--with coffee in hand! We had planned to visit the Cezanne to Picasso exhibit at the Art Institute, but this morning Gary called with an offer of Cubs tickets. So, Christi and I took Puck for a walk, shopped, pre-ordered the new Harry Potter book, and went to the Cubs game with Gary. The Cubs lost, but the score was close, the people around us were entertaining, the brats were good, and the weather was f*ing gorgeous! After a trip to the gym, I'm finishing up some household chores and meeting Tim out for a drink. I'm in such a good mood, I know we'll have a lot of fun tonight!
When the weather is as beautiful as it was today, and the sun is shining, and my friends are smiling, I remember why I love my life!
BONUS: I got a contract in the mail from Grant Park Symphony Chorus today! But, I have to turn down the show b/c I'm already doing a show with Chicago Symphony Chorus that weekend. Supply and demand, baby!
