Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and The Great Wall

Today we undertook an ambitious day of sight-seeing! We met a group of 400 local Jet Set staff and their trainers at Tiananmen Square. The place was built for tourists, and the food quality was poor.)

After lunch, we drove an hour and a half out of the city to Mutianyu, a section of The Great Wall which is less touristy, and more peaceful. On the way there and back, the local staff practiced the tour guiding skills they have been learning by standing up and making presentations about The Great Wall. We climbed 1000 stairs to get to the Wall, from which the views were fantastic. I climbed further up the wall to its highest point, about 1000 meters above sea level. After climbing back down and returning to the city, we had a relaxing pizza dinner at The Tree. I am exhausted, so I am headed to the whirlpool to have a soak.
