Opening Ceremony

Saturday night's Opening Ceremony of the XXIX Olympiad was a fantastic evening! We closed up the Will Call center and loaded into a van. I waited for my friend John to arrive and we sprinted to the venue. I called my dad while I climbed up the stairs, bought a muffin and Coke Zero, and got into my seat just as the Ceremony began. Everything was on a grand scale, and extremely gorgeous. It was, however extremely hot in the stadium, and we were all soaked with sweat! During the Athletes' Parade, the slowest part of the event, I went out to the hall and had a beer with a coworker. It was nice to relax and realize that the toughest part of my assignment here was behind me.
